Residents will need to apply for the subsidy to continue receiving benefits under the recently announced scheme. The application period for optional subsidies will end on September 30, 2022.

Delhi Electricity Subsidy Scheme

Delhi’s electricity bill subsidies will now be optional, according to Arvind Kejriwal, the city’s chief minister. Residents of Delhi must decide whether they want to participate in this scheme, which provides free power for up to 200 units and a 50% subsidy for up to 400 units each month. If your electricity service provider is BSES, you can easily apply for the Voluntary Subsidy Scheme via WhatsApp. You will be funded based on the month you submit your subsidy application. If you apply in September, you will begin receiving aid in October. Similarly, if you select October, you will receive a subsidy in November.

This plan will be renewed for one year each year. According to Kejriwal, everyone will receive a form along with their monthly bill in September that they must fill out if they want to continue receiving the electricity subsidy. It’s critical to remember that if you want to receive the subsidy and are renting an apartment, you must notify the owner. This is because a registered cellphone number must be linked to the BSES website to apply for the Delhi Electricity Subsidy Scheme 2024.
