On Thursday, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Minister for Women and Child Development Vishwajit P Rane distributed Sanction Orders to 3,000 this scheme beneficiaries from South Goa District. The Directorate of Women and Child Development’s Griha Adhar program provides financial assistance to homemakers within households, allowing them to achieve financial independence and meet their individual needs. Furthermore, the scheme helps to raise the overall living standards of these families. The financial assistance is directly deposited into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts, giving them complete control over how the funds are spent. Recipients can use the funds for educational purposes or to start businesses in the state.

The objective of the Griha Aadhar Scheme 

The Griha Aadhar Scheme 2024 has two primary goals: to combat inflation and to assist housewives and homemakers in Goa. This initiative seeks to ensure that people from lower-middle-class backgrounds can live comfortably. Beneficiaries will receive a monthly grant of Rs. 1200 to help them further their education or maintain a healthy lifestyle in Goa. Eligibility Criteria

Married women must be at least 18 years old, residents of Goa, and have a gross income of less than 3 lakh rupees to be eligible for the program. Furthermore, widows with young children who are already receiving benefits under the Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) initiated by the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa, are eligible to receive benefits under this program.

• Child Birth Certificate if the applicant is a widow receiving DS benefits.
• If the applicant is a widow receiving DS benefits, a child life certificate is required.
