Objectives of this Scheme
The main goal of Grama One Karnataka, which was launched by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on January 26, 2022, on the occasion of the 73rd Republic Day, is to provide benefits from various government programs and initiatives to the state’s rural citizens on one platform. This initiative will establish centers to provide all government services at the village level to residents of rural areas. Through these centers, villagers will be prevented from migrating to Taluk and District centers, saving them time and money while also bringing transparency to the system. The state government has also launched a portal dedicated to this initiative, gramaone.karnataka.gov.in portal.
Benefits and Features
- The 12 districts are Bidar, Koppal, Bellary, Belgaum, Haveri, Vijaypur, Davanagere, Shimoga, Tumkur, Chikkamagaluru, Udupi, and Kodagu.
- These centers will provide villagers with around 100 services from revenue, food, health, and labor departments as well as uninterrupted electricity and internet facilities.
- Under this initiative, young graduates of the state will be allowed to set up these centers, thereby creating employment opportunities in the state.

Eligibility Criteria
- To establish the centre, candidates must be permanent residents of the state of Karnataka.
- To open the centre, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and computer knowledge.
- In addition, candidates should be financially able to invest between 1 and 2 lakh rupees to establish the centre.
- To open the centre, candidates must submit a police inspection certificate.
- Furthermore, the candidates must locate the center centrally in the main village centre, making it easily accessible to citizens.
