The process of distributing Ayushman Cards under the PMJAY MA Yojana 2024 has begun in Gujarat. Let us remind you that, as the then-Chief Minister of Gujarat, the Prime Minister launched the “Mukhyamantri Amritam Yojana” in 2012 to protect poor citizens from the catastrophic costs of medical treatment and illness. Then, in 2014, the ‘MA’ scheme was expanded to include families with an annual income of Rs 4 lakh. Following this, in 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi combined Gujarat’s two health schemes (Amrutam and Amrutam Vatsaly) under the Ayushman Bharat Card Scheme. Following the integration of these two schemes, 1.58 crore beneficiaries in Gujarat received PMJAY-MA cards.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi began distributing Ayushman cards to PMJAY-MA scheme beneficiaries via video conferencing at a program in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on October 17, 2022. During this program, the Prime Minister also communicated with the beneficiaries via video conferencing. More than 50 lakh Ayushman PVC cards (which are made of lightweight polyvinyl chloride) have been printed and distributed to Gujarat’s Chief District Health Officers/Medical Officers. Which will be distributed to the villages as soon as possible. Beneficiaries will be provided health coverage up to Rs 5 lakh per family through these Ayushman cards of the PMJAY-MA Yojana.

The objective of PMJAY-MA Scheme 2024

Ayushman cards are distributed to beneficiaries to provide cashless health coverage up to ₹500000. This service will be available to them in private and government hospitals listed under the Ayushman Bharat Card Scheme. Any Gujarati cardholder can use his PMJAY-MA Card to get cashless treatment at hospitals listed under the PMGY scheme. Ayushman cards will be distributed only to beneficiaries who received PMJAY-MA cards under the Chief Minister’s leadership from September 2021 to the present.

Benefits and Features of PMJAY MA Yojana

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi started distributing Ayushman cards to the beneficiaries of the PMJAY-MA scheme on October 17, 2022.
• Under this scheme, 50 lakh PMJAY-MA scheme beneficiaries in Gujarat will receive Ayushman PVC cards (made of lightweight polyvinyl chloride).
• Beneficiaries of PMJAY-MA Scheme 2024 can now get Ayushman cards and get cashless treatment up to ₹500000 in private and government hospitals empaneled under the Ayushman Bharat card scheme.
• These 50 lakh Ayushman cards have been printed and distributed to the appropriate Chief District Health Officers/Medical Officers. These will be distributed at the village level as soon as possible.

Eligibility and Application Process under the APJY-MA Scheme

There is no need to apply for this scheme. Because, under the leadership of Gujarat’s Chief Minister, 50 lakh PMJAY-MA Cards have been distributed since September 2021 to date. The beneficiaries of these cards will receive Ayushman cards. The Prime Minister started distributing these cards on October 17, 2022. The Prime Minister began by participating in a program organized in Gujarat via video conference. In addition, he used video conferencing to interact with many beneficiaries.
