Karnataka Labour Card 2024

The Karnataka Labour Card is a document issued by the Karnataka Labor Department that confirms your status as a registered worker. Depending on your occupation, it is provided by either the Karnataka State Unorganised Worker Social Security Board (KSUWSSB) or the Karnataka Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The objective of Karnataka Labour Card 2024

Employees working for a licensed contractor are eligible to receive a building card. The holder of this widely used card has access to nearly all perks. Workers who do non-building work, such as farming and horticulture, are eligible to use the social card. Shram card allows the user to access health insurance benefits.

Benefits of Karnataka Labour Card

• The insured and their dependents can receive annual health insurance coverage of up to Rs. 2 lakhs.
• 10,000 rupees for funeral expenses in the event of an employee’s death.
• Workers and their children who are getting married can take advantage of a 50,000-rupee marriage assistance program.
• Up to Rs. 2 lakhs in housing assistance for home construction or acquisition, or up to Rs. 50,000 for home repair or restoration.
• Maternity benefits for the first two children are Rs. 20,000 for male children and Rs. 30,000 for female children. 
• Students in grades 1-10 can receive up to Rs. 20,000 in annual education aid, while students in grades 11 can receive up to Rs. 40,000 through diploma or graduate programs.
• Employees who reach the age of 60 and have contributed for at least three years are eligible for a monthly pension of Rs. 1,000.
• Accident-related death or permanent disability benefits of up to Rs. 5 lakhs are available, as are accident-related partial disability benefits of up to Rs. 2 lakh.

To be eligible for a labor card, you must meet the following requirements:

• Your age should range from 18 to 60.
• You must register as a worker with your local District Labour Office.
• It is expected that you are a Karnataka resident.

How Can I Apply Online for a Karnataka Labour Card?

The Karnataka government has set up an online site to help people register for Karnataka labour cards. Labourers and construction workers can both apply for a labour card through this online site. The National Informatics Centre (NIC) created this portal specifically for activities related to employment regulations and worker health, safety, and welfare.

• Visit the official website and click on the ‘online registration and renewal’ tab.
• When the “Labour Act management” page appears, carefully read the instructions.

• To register for a portal account, select the ‘New Registration’ tab.

• Enter your contact information, such as your name, email address, and phone number.

• Enter your Aadhaar number and confirm with an OTP.
• Select your profession from the drop-down menu.  
• Provide all required documentation, such as proof of identification, proof of address, proof of age, proof of employment, and so on.
• Use a debit card, credit card, or net banking to pay the Rs. 25 registration fee online.
• After submitting your application, make a note of the application number for your records.
